BA Announces Entry into Solar Energy

Builders Architectural VP Mark Meshulam (AKA Chicago Window Expert) announces the entry of Builders Architectural into the solar energy market.
According to Meshulam, "We recognize important similarities between the commercial window/curtainwall industry and the renewable energy industry". Both disciplines involve a high degree of engineering expertise, an understanding of building functions, and a "hands-on" capability. And of course, PV (photovoltaic) panels are made of glass!"
Meshulam recently attended the InterSolar North America conference in San Francisco. He forged new supplier relationships and returned with the latest updates on solar technology. "We are ready, right now, to bring solar to Chicago."
In addition to building national and international supplier relationships, Meshulam has assembled a local team of engineers and installers in the related electrical and HVAC fields in order to bring a single source to the market.
According to Meshulam, "We are ready to provide and install turnkey installations for new construction or rehab in the following areas:
- PV - Photovoltaic panels (for generating electricity)
- Solar thermal (for heating water)
- BIPV - Building Integrated Photovoltaics (integrating PV with building envelope)
"There is a need to prove out the applicability of these technologies in the Chicago market. People hesitate because they think we don't have enough sun" says Meshulam, ""ut other areas with similar climates are going full speed with solar."
In order to prove that solar can work in Chicago, Meshulam initiated the "Green Guinea Pig" program, wherein seven solar technologies will be installed locally at little or no cost, and scientifically monitored.
