What is Builders Architectural?
We are a multi-faceted Illinois Corporation started in 1960. We have 3 divisions:
- Builders Architectural Products -- Construction Products and Services
- Builders Architectural Repair & Testing -- Consultant & Testing Agency
- DocSys Document Systems -- Document Digitizing and Archiving
Growth and Diversification
Historically, our growth can be attributed to our ability to master new technologies and offer them to clients. We thrive on undertaking challenges and succeeding. Whatever services we perform, we strive to deliver them with the same excellence.
Project Management
Our service delivery culture is rooted in project management.
We achieve customer satisfaction through assigning a permanent project manager who will serve as the primary "go-to" person for the project. No matter how many vendors, subcontractors and staff are required to fulfill your project, the buck stops with your project manager.
Our formula works. Company-wide, in 2003 over 90% of our customers were repeat customers.
Why Document Management?
Our warehouse was crammed with files from 40 years of work on over 3000 construction projects. The storage costs were excessive and the fire risk was of concern. We needed to digitize and discard.
We researched, we learned, we did the job at moderate cost. The outcome was exciting and worth the effort. We realized that many other companies must also be buried in paper. We could help them, too. So, in 2003, we started DocSys.
DocSys
Document conversion is remarkably similar to construction. In both, the service provider must determine and plan for client needs, implement processes which are initially technology-driven (the up-front product engineering), then later execute the processes using a trained labor force. We bring our 43 years of experience completing complex construction tasks to your disposal in the development and implementation of a correct document system strategy.
Some examples of DocSys work:
Client A
300 banker boxes of reports hauled off-site, prepared, scanned, indexed, and recorded on disc.
Client B
20,000 documents barcoded and scanned on client's premises, followed by documented disposal of originals.
Client C
Scan a roomful of active files and store data on client's local network. Mirror data on a remote ftp site.
Client D
Manage the transition to paperless functioning at an insurance facility, one set of processes at a time. Furnish and install a new storage area network capable of handling 1 terabyte of newly scanned data, with customized software to interface with existing system
