Builders Architectural is the only Chicago area based window/glazing/curtainwall contractor
equally adept at new construction and rehab.
In new construction, our trained draftspeople produce detailed shop drawings from the project
architectural drawings and these are submitted to the general contractor along with relevant test reports,
production information, glass, color and sealant samples for approval.
When all details, dimensions, and specification items are approved by the architect and this approval is
forwarded to us we then proceed with ordering all job specific materials and accessories. As in all
construction, scheduling plays a major role in the new construction process. At the initiation of any new
project, we ask our customers to provide us with a schedule of when windows, glass and other products
will be required on the jobsite. We then place this information in a schedule and track the milestones of
shop drawing production and material production to comply with this schedule as closely as possible. It
is critical as the job progresses that all questions, details, dimensions, etc. be decided upon and approved
as quickly as possible to avoid delays in delivery of material. We work closely with our customers to
bring about resolution of outstanding items for a smooth job flow.
Windows are critical to the new construction process. Once installed, they create a protected
environmental for interior trades to work in.
